Requiem for a Village 2

One sequence which has been puzzling me in 'Requiem for a Village' is where a frog is caught, hung from a tree and then its bones separated and cast onto a stream.

The film is soon to be released on DVD

Wonderful screenshots, would love to watch this. Having studied a bit of folklore, I believe the casting and retrieval of toad bones into a river is meant to give a person command over animals (including people), although it was usually intended for horses. I'd try it but its too cold at the moment.
